What to do

Apart from diving, snorkelling and enjoying the beach, most of the resorts offer some great excursions such as volcano hiking, highland trips, cycling around Lake Tondano, local jungle trekking, canoeing and traditional fishing.

A visit of the Tangkoko Nature Reserve should be a must on anybody’s agenda! This is where you can see the tarsier - the world's tiniest primate, flocks of black macaque monkeys, maleo birds, the red knobbed hornbill, the kuskus - a relative to Australia's koala bear, and plenty of other indigenous creatures in their natural habitat.
