Gili Trawangan/Lombok

The island of Lombok, located to the east of Bali, is rich in terms of culture and natural beauty. It offers an array of beautiful tropical beaches, a great variety of landscapes with a volcanic mountain and some of the most spiritual sights in Indonesia.

The Gili Islands in the north west of Lombok feature three small, coral fringed islands, Gili Air, Gilli Meno and Gili Trawangan. Gili Trawangan with 2 x 3km in size it is the largest, most developed and most popular of the three.

While Gili Trawangan has picked up the reputation of being something of a party island, you will be sorely disappointed if you come here expecting Goya style beach raves. In fact, despite a few low-key “parties” which are occasionally held some of the bars in the southern part of the island, Gili Trawangan is so laid back it is virtually horizontal.

If you are staying at the Villa Almarik on the northeast coast, you will primarily have to deal with superb white sandy beaches, clear waters, coral reefs and total relaxation!
