Bohol

Bohol, located in the center of the Philippines in an area called "the Visayas", has numerous attractions. Here is where you will find the famous Chocolate Hills, the Loboc river and some old towns like "Baclayon", which houses one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. The capital "Tagbilaran City" is a small but bustling place with an interesting market and some old colonial buildings from the spanish times. There are also a couple of shoppping centers, with real bargains for jeans and other clothes.

Panglao Island is a small island off the south west of Bohol, connected only by two bridges. Alona Beach, the most developed beach, is on the southern coast of the island. The swimming off this beach is sometimes hampered by sea grass, but it makes for good snorkelling only about 50 meters from shore.

Doljo Beach is on the northern coast of Panglao Island and offers an expanse of perfect white sand. Swimming here is sometimes difficult at low tide but its is the perfect spot for sunbathing and there is excellent snorkelling 50m of the beach.
