Malapascua is located about 8 km north-east of Cebu mainland. This beautiful, sleepy little island is as yet unspoiled by package tourism and offers white sandy beaches, lush green palm trees and clear blue waters.

You can walk around Malapascua in about 2 hours and its population of around 4000 mostly live off tourism, fishing, boat building or coconuts.

Bounty Beach is the name of a stretch of beach along the southern and eastern shore, which is the main beach of the island where most of the resorts, bars & restaurants are found.

There are no cars on the island and most buildings are only one floor high. The locals are friendly and it is impossible not to relax here and soak up the atmosphere of being truly off-the-beaten track.

It is also said to be the only place in the world to watch the elusive Thresher Sharks, and in fact, well over half of the visitors to the island are divers.
