 Marine Conservation The Department of Fisheries (Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative) maintains a research station at Cape Panwa, a protected area in the southeast of Phuket. Sirinath National Park stretches for about 14 kilometres along the northwestern tip of the island and two marine sanctuaries, Shark Point and Anemone Reef, are located in the waters about 13 nautical miles east of the island. There is also a Turtle Conservation Project on Phuket, supported by the WWF. |
