Diving & Snorkelling
The reefs around the island slope from about 2 to 20 meters while offshore-pinnacles can drop to a depth of more than 30 meters. Some of the highlights you can expect underwater are sea anemones, schools of batfish, barracudas, trevallies & giant groupers, triggerfish, mackerel, pipefish, filefish, coral shrimpfish and the poisonous scorpionfish and with a bit of luck you see a whale-shark or manta ray swimming by!

Sightings of whale sharks are most likely during the month of February, June, August and November.

Even though there is some good snorkelling off most beaches, it is recommended to rent a long-tail boat and explore the many hidden bays of Koh Tao.
