What to do

Papua Diving offers several exciting full and half day trips and excursions to allow you to see the beauty of the Raja Ampat above water and to see Raja Ampat from a different perspective.

Batanta Waterfalls - beautiful falls of up to 20 meters in height and pools where you can take a refreshing dip.

Passage Day Trip - a unique and very special day trip loved by divers and non divers alike. Here the sea flows like a river snaking between limestone cliffs rising towards the sky. The cliffs have been eroded over thousands of years and are draped in roots, & vines with precariously balanced trees dipping into the water. You can snorkel in the Passage where you will see colourful sponges, tunicates and gigantic orange sea fans almost reaching the to the surface. Along the way you will get the chance to stop at bat caves and ancient burial sites and snorkel amongst the mushrooms islands dotted like jewels in the surrounding bays.

Red Bird of Paradise - take a trip to see one of Papua’s rarest birds, the Red Bird of Paradise. Endemic to Indonesia the Red Bird of Paradise can be found on the nearby island of Gam about a 20 minute boat ride from the resorts.

Blue Water Mangroves - Just 10 minutes away lies a mangrove system of clear mirror-still blue water where coral grows in the shallow waters against the arching roots of mangrove trees. Upon entering from the sea the mangroves open into a complex interconnected network of channels and huge lakes where you can spend a good few hours snorkelling the small channels between the mangroves.
