Food & Drink
Restaurants and bars are plentiful wherever you go in the main tourist areas, but the "Kan Eang2" at Chalong Bay is probably the best for seafood on the island. "The Boathouse Wine & Grill" is the most upmarket options for Thai and European cuisine with a stunning setting on Kata Beach and a wine menu from here to Timbuktu.

If you want to eat excellent local Thai food, in local Thai atmosphere at Thai prices (cheap), you should check out "Mama Noi" next to the Post Office on Kata Beach.

On the very top of Patong Beach, there are three more excellent restaurants next to each other. "Da Maurizio Bar & Ristorante" for Italian, "Otowa" for Japanese and "Baan Rim Pa" for Thai food.
