Diving & Snorkelling Home to the world's strongest currents, the waters around Vancouver Island are extremely rich in nutrients, enabling exaggerated growth of the large number of invertebrates. Apart from hundreds of different types of nudibranchs, divers will have the chance to see massive king crabs, basket stars, rockfish, giant octopus', entire rock-faces covered in strawberry anemones and tubeworms, friendly wolf eels and maybe even six-gill sharks. Apart from some very interesting purpose sunk ships, stormy seas and bad luck have doomed many ships in these waters, which make for some exiting wreck diving. Please note however, we would not necessarily recommend Vancouver Island to novice divers as it can be very demanding and is often classified as adventure diving. |
